UTT Beutel students collect toys for
needy children
Thanks to the enthusiasm of
the UTT Beutel Student Council, children from less fortunate families had
special Chanukkah treats this year. These caring Grade 6 children, upon
learning of the appeal from the MADA Community Center, (Montreal’s only
kosher soup kitchen and food bank), decided to take maters into their own
hands. They wrote to parents throughout the school, asking for new toys, books
and games to light up Chanukah for an increasingly larger number of struggling
Jewish homes. The response was truly heartwarming. These students visited MADA last year as part of the UTT
Tikkun Olam (outreach) program and they have adopted MADA as one of their
community service causes.
